IQNA – The final round of the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran concluded at the Grand Mosque in Mecca on Thursday.

The 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran concluded at the Grand Mosque in Mecca on August 14, 2025.

 

This round spanned six consecutive days, featuring the participation of 179 contestants from 128 countries across various continents.

This year’s edition featured intense competition, marked by exceptional recitation quality, precise memorization, eloquent delivery, and melodious voices. The high level of performance reflected a deep global reverence for the Quran and signaled the emergence of a promising new generation of Quran memorizers worldwide.

An elite panel of internationally recognized judges, all specialists in Quranic sciences, oversaw the evaluations.

The competition also featured an upgraded electronic judging system to ensure fairness and accuracy in scoring.

Large audiences of visitors at the Grand Mosque engaged warmly with the recitations.

This year's competition included five categories with total prizes exceeding SAR4 million, reaffirming its status as one of the most prestigious and well-established Quranic competitions in the world.
